What you get
VISIT A HISTORICAL SITE The Montagu Bastion not only hosts some of Gibraltar's best art pieces but also has a rich history. Historians believe that it was built under the Moors and rebuilt and enlarged into a large five-sided bastion with three faces covering the Mole and the Waterport, and two flanks. The site since then has served many uses including holding various military weaponry throughout the years, acting as an anti-aircraft position during the 20th Century, and now hosting The Gibraltar Exhibitions of Modern Art.
VIEW THE ART GALLERIES The Gallery is divided into three main vaults, and is dedicated to previous winners of the main art competitions held annually in Gibraltar. These are The International Art Exhibition, The Young Art Competition and The Spring Visual Arts Competition. You will obtain access to over forty artworks hosted in this historical site, comprising of mostly paintings, sculptures, video, installation and photography. The Gallery is running an initiative inviting local artists to exhibit in one of the vaults, in a bid to promote their work and expand the opportunities available to them.
