TICKETS for the 2016 Gibraltar Darts Trophy are now on sale ahead of the European Tour event on "The Rock" from May 6-8.
The sport's top stars will return to Gibraltar for the fourth successive year to compete in the PDC European Tour event, which is worth £115,000 in prize money. Friday's first round will see the 32 qualifiers for the event compete across two sessions at the Victoria Stadium, before the 16 seeded players - likely to include world number one Michael van Gerwen, the reigning champion - enter in Saturday's second round.
The Gibraltar Darts Trophy will then conclude on Sunday May 6, with the third round in the afternoon session and the quarter-finals, semi-finals and final in the evening session. The field for the Gibraltar Darts Trophy will feature the leading 16 players from the PDC's ProTour Order of Merit, as at the close of entries in early March.
In addition, 20 players will win through the UK Qualifier, with a further eight European Qualifiers set to be joined by four Gibraltarian aces who will win through the Host Nation Qualifier.
The ProTour Order of Merit's top 16, currently headed by Dutch star van Gerwen, also includes former Gibraltar Darts Trophy winner James Wade, reigning World Champion Gary Anderson and 2015 World Grand Prix winner Robert Thornton.
Premier League stars Peter Wright, Michael Smith, Adrian Lewis and Dave Chisnall are also line to compete in Gibraltar.
